Organic egg products, from our farms to your kitchen

To qualify as organic, eggs must satisfy a number of criteria, beginning with the conditions in which the hens are reared. At an organic farm, there can be no more than six birds per square metre, with a maximum of 3,000 hens in total. In addition, the hens must:

  • Be free-range
  • Get natural light
  • Have access to the outdoors, with a chicken run offering 4 m² of space per bird, in accordance with the principles of organic farming
  • Receive vitamin-rich feed that is primarily made up of plants and minerals, with at least 95% of the inputs being organically farmed.

At Cocotine, 42 of our farmers have gone organic, accounting for 11% of our farms (by number of hens) as at the end of June 2023. Our organic egg processing takes place as close as possible to the farms’ locations. This involves transforming the eggs into products like pasteurised liquid egg, hard-boiled eggs, omelettes and more.
